FIRST CLASS BLOGS: Talk That Skit

Before I start let me say the pool party yesterday was fucking dope. I got drunk (thanks to @Bam_412), thought about pushing people in the pool that were fully dressed (but I brought my chill with me), and cracked mad jokes. A lot of people showed up and came out to support remember #PghSupportPgh but overall shit was fun and you missed out, shame on you!

I'm taking this time to dedicate this blog to a value part of the rap game, a section that has be long gone and forgotten about over this past few years. A valuable piece that entertained millions of people around the world and that ladies and gents are skits. Skits are what we are missing in the world of rap/hip-hop.

When was the last time you've heard a dope skit? Yea, it's been a while since you've heard one. The reason skits are important and needed in the world of rap is simple. Skits symbolize a lot about your favorite rapper(s) and what it symbolizes is personality. A skit can tell you a lot about your favorite rapper male or female, a good skit can give you some insight on what kind of humor and personality your favorite rapper has. Skits give you the opportunity to tell yourself if you only like the persons music or do you honestly think this person is pretty dope in real life.

I think in today's era of hip-hop skits are missing because these rappers lack character. Everyone wants to "follow the trend" and they are not being themselves. You see when Kanye first came out 10% of is albums were skits, he wasn't afraid to crack a joke and be the asshole who we grown to love. I would enjoy a Kanye skit today (hopefully there's one on this Good Music album). Today's rappers are too cool, they're "too swagged out" to record a skit and make people laugh and enjoy the album as a whole. They're too busy always being in "rapper mode" in my opinion. If you look back at some of the funniest skit majority of them came from the rappers who had the most character and had personality.

Some of the best skits came from artist such as Dr. Dre, Cam'Ron, N.O.R.E, Snoop, and the list goes on. Skit kept you entertained aside from the music while listening to an album. Some skits were series which also kept you wanting to hear the following one and buy the next album.
