Throwback Thursday

Welcome back to Throwback Thursday
I know its been a while but welcome back to First Class Blogs.

This blog today is going to be short and straight to the point. Throwback Thursday is going to go back to about 02-03 and touch on the beginning of the Jay-Z vs Joe Budden beef.

The "Pump It Up" beat was originally a beat Just Blaze made for HOV, but once HOV heard the beat he turned it down and told Just he no longer wanted the beat. Following that Just Blaze gave the beat to the new Def Jam artist Joe Budden which Budden turned the song into a hit. Some hated the song some loved it but the song played all through the NBA Final that year and got Joe some attention for his first solo self titled album. Once HOV seen how good the song and the numbers were doing he then decided to spit a freestyle over the beat throwing a few jabs at Budden. Not even a week after hearing the Jay-Z verse, Budden then released his own remix freestyle over the beat letting HOV know that he wasn't going to sit there and let him throw sneak disses his way.

After that Jay-Z became President of Def Jam and put Joe Budden's second album "The Growth" on the self and since then the two have been throwing jabs at each other.

For example:

Joe Budden "Talk 2 Em" Joe said "Take off the blazer loosen up the tie/ nigga fell in love and Superman died/ better learn to cover ya ears when them toys pop/ I hate ya last single and none of ya Boys Roc" (Remember Jay-Z's single "Roc Boys")

Jay-Z "Reminder" HOV said "Throwbacks I threw em back remember those button ups/ Young HOV tell them ordinary Joe's button (Budden) up"

So enjoy your Throwback Thursday
