Now, today is Thursday and since I didn't release a blog Monday I'd figure I'll give yall a double shot of Throwback Thursday. See I'm making up for it, so just turn your fucking relax volumes up b and calm down! Today's Throwback Thursday features an artist that was once in everyone's top 5, an artist that was at the top of the rap game in the late 90's. Today's Throwback Thursday comes from a rapper who released his first two albums in the same year which was 1998, and that artist is Earl Simmons b.k.a DMX.
Now yall can attempt to front on DMX now because of his most recent trials and tribulations but let's keep it all the way real here. Dark Man X was that dude, "It's Dark and Hell is Hot" still gets put in rotation. After listening to the right DMX song it made you wanna rob your nearest corner store, gun butt the nigga behind the counter, take your mask off and look in the camera and say "Bitch I did this to you." I'm pretty sure a few people went to jail behind a DMX song in the summer of 1998 and if we had WorldStar back then the footage would be all over that shit. But today wont feature the "smack ya coworker" Earl Simmons, one half of today's Throwback Thursday is the song titled "How It's Goin' Down"
"How It's Goin' Down" is track ten on his first album and did I mention it's a classic. I know not one person that doesn't like this song, for starters it has one of the funniest skits before the song begins. The song talks about how X bagged this chick that he knew from back in the day when he was rocking a wave cap. I'm guessing he had 360's when he first met her Idk, but they started to mess around and ol girl has a BD that she has two kids by. Niggas (referring to men and women) didn't care then and they damn sure don't care now! Back to the song tho, they get caught up and continues to be friends by the end of the song. Let me remind you this song was released in 1998 and still gets mad listens in 2012 so enjoy the first half of Throwback Thursday DMX "How It's Goin' Down"

The second half of today's Throwback is also track 10 but on DMX's second album "Flesh of my Flesh, Blood of my Blood." This song can help a nigga in a time of need and show a young nigga that you too can make it out the hood. The song is "Slippin" this is one of my favorite X songs of all time. There was so much pain and anger shared on this song, DMX actually made you understand and feel what he felt. This song starts off with X sharing his feelings when he was a kid and how him and his mother wasn't on the same page. In the video his mom styled on em and said "Fuck ya report card lil nigga, there's grown folk in this room. We playing spades and we got a 10 hand fuck out my face."
I know she said that, DMX told me.
But on a serious note, DMX discussed his harsh childhood growing up as a troubled kid and doing drugs. This is a real song, an artist talking about his life and not be ashamed of the things he did. So enjoy your second half of Throwback Thursday DMX "Slippin"

And just by watching these videos furthers my theory that DMX wasn't acting in "Belly" like how Cam wasn't acting in "Paid In Full"
I'm outty like an A8, be safe!
