Yea I know what you're thinking and yes, @I_WhiteMike and I took a bye week last week. I did, but I have an excuse I was in Vegas. Now Mike's excuse Idk, maybe he was somewhere getting banned for life again. Idk don't get me lying.
Speaking of Vegas that place motivated this blog today.
A few of my friends (@DaReal_Mccoy and @E_Trell) and I decided to walk the strip one day and crack jokes and have fun like we always do. The strip was filled with people doing all types of things for money. People passing out prostitution flyers (there's like 3-4 of niggas like this on every block), niggas doing the robot, basically all types of flith. Shit, I seen a lil Mexican lady get danced on by three African American men but hey that's another story. But while walking the strip drunk a lightbulb went off in my head. I'm in Las Vegas "Sin City" a city where millions of dollars are made and millions of dollars are lost, and also the city in which Tupac got shot.
Now being the hip hop fan that I am, I asked the people I was with if they wanted to walk to the street where Suge and Tupac got shot in the BMW. They said yea, so we Googled (cuz niggas love Google) which intersection and how far the walk would be. We did and it said about 10 mins. Now if you ever been to Vegas then you know how long those blocks are b, but being the fans that we are for hip hop we walked and said fuck it. We weren't going to let something as little as walking stop us from going to a historical hip hop block.
We got to the corner and we were all excited to be there ( well I know I was). Not excited about the man's death but excited about being able to be there because a lot of people probably will never go there. We took mad pics, we even poured out some liquor, and at one point I felt like a groupie. Then I realized this was Tupac one of the greatest of our time and one of the greatest to ever pick up a mic. That's when I said fuck how a nigga thinks that we walked to see where Tupac got shot! I remember where I was at when I found out Tupac died and being there took me right back to that place. I was coming home from football practice walk through the door and my mom told me Tupac got shot and died. I cried I can't front! I never met the nigga but through his music I did and he related to the struggle in which I had of living in the projects. I was 9 years old when Pac died and I still remember that till this day and will never forget it!
This blog wasn't about a certain song but more on the memory of that Sept 7th night in 1996 where we lost not just a rapper but one of our leaders. But since Throwback Thursday is a music blog I'll bless yall with "I Get Around" enjoy!
