Throwback Thursday

Welcome back to another Throwback Thursday.
We all know Sept 11th is right about around the corner, so before I start this blog I must say RIP to all the people who lost their lives that sad morning in 2001. I'm pretty sure everyone still remembers where they were when they found out what was going on in New York City that day. It was a truly sad day and what happened affected everyone.

In regard to music or should I say hip-hop there were two very dope albums that were released the same day the Twin Towers fell. I must say if you do not know at least one of the albums then you are a true new nigga and need to do some got damn research before you call yourself a fan of these artists. The first album we're going to discuss that released Sept 11, 2001 was the classic "Blueprint" album from Jay-Z, Shawn Carter, Jigga Man, or whatever the fuck he's calling himself in 2012. One of the greatest albums of all time and one of the greatest albums since the 2000's. The second album we're going to talk about is also a rapper from Brooklyn and @E_TRELL favorite rapper, FA BO LO US. Fab released his first studio album "Ghetto Fabolous" on that sad gloomy morning.
Young Fabolous who's real name is John Jackson came into the rap game from the mixtape era. If you know your history on Fab and the mixtape era DJ Clue used to run then you would know Fab's original rap name was "Fabolous Sport." Fab used to open up just about every DJ Clue mixtape at the time and he had punchlines out of this world. He later in his mixtape run linked up with Joe Budden and Stack Bundles and they formed a group called "The Triangle Offence" and they also linked up with The A-Team (a young group from Jersey) and Fab's little brother Paul Cain. Clue and Desert Storm ran the mixtape game at one point.

Fab's mixtape presence lead to him inking a deal and also lead to the album in which I spoke about above "Ghetto Fabolous." Fab was one of the few from his mixtape era that became a mainstream success and sold millions of records. Now in 2012 Fab is in the process of recording Loso's Way 2 which should be in stores early next year.

So enjoy your Throwback Thursday

Also today is Sept 6th and on Sept 7th was the day 2Pac was shot in Las Vegas and this song from Fabolous feat a 2Pac sample on the hook, just another reason I picked this song for today.

RIP to all the 9/11 victims, RIP 2Pac, and RIP Nate Dogg
