Here's my problem with John Jackson

I don't have any cool shit to say to introduce this blog so I'm going to skip that part today and just get into this issue I have with John.
First, do I think Fab can rap yes! Let's get that out the way now....

Now while I was in the middle of enjoying my Thanksgiving with my family eating some great food, drinking a cold beer, and watching football I get a text. The text I received said "You download that new Fab?" in which I replied "Nah I totally forgot all about that but I'm going to right after I'm done doing what I'm doing."

I didn't even download the tape I simply went on Datpiff and listened to the mixtape because I didn't want to disrespect my MacBook with struggle. I listened to 5 to 6 songs, I really can't remember and I stopped and asked myself "Is Fab falling off?"

Following that question I sat back and was thinking to myself as a rapper who is Fabolous?

Fab has been in the game since about 99-00, his first solo studio album was released Sept 11, 2001. So John has been in the rap game for a while now and is a seasoned vet. With that being said I still yet to know who Fab is. You would think with ten plus years of being a professional rapper your fans would have a sense of who you are as a person and as a rapper. Fab lacks the quality of sharing his personal life with his audience. I do not mean for him to share his deepest and darkest secret but got damn dog give us something. When Fab releases music I'm always unsure of what to expect because he's so everywhere. He doesn't know if we wants to be the cool smooth ladies man rapper, the city slicker with dope punches and metaphors, the life of the party, the street dude with goons on stand by. (By the way Cain is the ultimate goon) I just think he's confused and it shows in his music.

Fab used to come with dope, slick, catchy bars that made everyone say "wow did he really say that?" but now his bars a very average and it's sickening. B.I.T.E (Bitch I'm Trying to Eat) really my nigga? And the nerve of this nigga to have a BIG sample/interview at the beginning of it. I almost wanted to throw my laptop across the room when I heard that terrible hook.

Where's the "There's No Competition 1" John Jackson at?

Where's the "Loso's Way Mixtape" John Jackson at?

It makes me sick to hear struggle tunes from such a dope rapper, I just knew Fab was going to hold the crown once HOV stop being a rapper and became the icon he is today. In 2003-2004 I just knew Fab was going to be the King of NY, he released "Breathe" and I was like this is it my nigga. Then what happened, by far one of the worst albums I've heard in the 2000's. I thought at one point Fab had so much potential but I guess his lack of personal connection with his fans and ok song writing abilities changed that. When Fab does try to give you a personal connection and rap about something somewhat deep, he tries to force punchlines in the song to make you understand him. If the song is meant to be deep and make me think about something the punchline isn't needed just let the line be deep and walk away from it.

In conclusion my issue with Fab is that I do not know who he is and after ten years I feel like I should know by now. I feel like his chance to become a megastar has came and went, Fab should have artist and his own label like how Wayne has Nikki, Drake, and YMCMB. Fab should be sitting back touring and doing shows from his previous years and not trying to make that one hit that will push him over the edge. Jay-Z hasn't released any new music and can still sellout a show from his old music, I'm sure Wayne can too, shit even Kanye. That's where Fab should be at but instead he's searching for that new hit featuring (insert currently hot rapper for the moment names).

And for all you people saying "Fab is in your top 5" think about this, it's been ten plus years and he has yet to release a classic album.

I'm out and stay away from niggas that be dirty and broke
