FIRST CLASS BLOGS: Throwback Thursday

Today is Throwback Thursday so this means extra dope drink specials, niggas already planning on not doing work tomorrow, and a blog from yours truly....

If you didn't already read Monday's blog "Qualifications to being a New Nigga Vol. 2" read that shit hoe!! I got a lot of great feedback from that blog and I personally want to tell everyone who continues to read week in and week out THANKS!!! I really appreciate yall taking 5-10 minutes out your day to read my blogs and I really appreciate the people that RT the links, so thanks!

But enough of all that tho....

This weeks Throwback Thursday features an artist who some consider their first album a classic. The song was featured on an album which at one point received 5 mics from The Source but in a later issue got dropped down to 4.5 mics. The album was released in the 4th quarter of 1996 (for you slow niggas that means the last 3 months of that year) I swear sometimes I feel like I have to break shit down for you GED having ass niggas. The album is Hardcore, the artist is Lil Kim, and the song is "Crush On You" feat Lil Cease

Now, you can easily call Kimberly Jones a bitter old 90's rapper and I personally understand your reasoning for saying that. She could have gone about the Nicki issue a little different but she played her cards the way she wanted to play them. Let's be real tho, you have to give credit when credit is due and the mid 90's Kim was dope. She was on arguably one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all-time and held her own and that song is "All About The Benjamin's." This 2012 Lil Kim is out here struggling b and doesn't have one gram of calm the fuck down in her immune system. That's a different story tho we're talking about the 96 Kim....

If you ask me I think the nigga that created the game "Simon Says" directed this video, it's honestly the first thing I think of when I watch it. The video starts off with Lil Cease doing his best BIG impersonation with the shades and the suit, you gotta admit the nigga tried his hardest. I can't front Cease did his thing on his verse. Following the Lil Cease verse you catch Uncle Luke with his cameo during the hook and after Luke is Aaliyah (R.I.P). I dont think no one has anything bad to say about Aaliyah but Styles P (once again that's a different story tho). After the hook Kim steps out with the multiple color wigs and outfits, being the flamboyant character she is. Ms. Jones said some fly shit in her verse as well and looked good while doing it. Don't front a lot of you niggas would have knocked off Kim back in the day, dont front! But she got the name "Queen Bee" for a reason she's one of the best of all -time, from being on Bad Boy with BIG and Diddy to doing songs with Jay-Z and 50 Cent. This is the Lil Kim we've grown to love and the Lil Kim we miss.
